Keresztúr named settlements memorial park

The Bodrog river does not always show its peaceful face. In 1999, Bodrogkeresztúr suffered a major flood. A distant namesake, the village of Balatonkeresztúr, offered help to the settlement. From then on, a close alliance was formed between the two municipalities. In 2000, the two villages decided to contact other settlements in the Carpathian Basin with the name of Keresztúr. The first meeting was attended by 14 municipalities.

The members of the association meet every year. The park was created to mark the 2004 Bodrogkeresztúr meeting.
